EVS Quick Start Guide
This guide will walk you through the basic steps needed to start using EVS — from enabling EVS to uploading and sharing videos with your team.
Request EVS Access
Before you can start using EVS, you need to enable EVS for your account.
- If you do not yet have an account for our services, please register one first through the Sign Up page.
- Once registered, send us a e-mail or use the Contact Us form requesting access to EVS.
- In your message, please mention whether you would like the uploaded materials to be stored in your own cloud storage (Amazon S3 or Azure Blob Storage).
If no preference is specified, your files will be uploaded by default to a storage container in our Cloud Space.
Note
Although we may technically have access to uploaded files, all materials are encrypted at rest. Only authenticated users from your organization can actually play them.
Once we receive your request, our team will prepare the initial setup and contact you via email when everything is ready.
Activate EVS
After your EVS access has been prepared, you can activate it from your account.
- Log in to your account.
- Navigate to User Profile → Account Settings.
- Locate the EVS Status section and click Activate.
- You will be asked to confirm your password.
During activation, you will receive your Global Access Certificate (GAC).
Important
Save your GAC code somewhere secure. It is used for encrypting your materials, and without it you may not be able to access your uploaded videos.
For security reasons, we do not store the GAC as plain text, which means we cannot recover it for you.
- After saving the GAC, click I've saved my GAC.
- You will then be redirected to set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
You will also receive Recovery Codes.
Important
Save these codes. They allow you to restore access if you lose your phone or your authenticator app becomes unavailable.
- Click Complete to finish the activation process.
Invite Members to Your EVS Organization
EVS allows you to collaborate with other members of your organization.
To invite a new member:
- Log in to your account.
- Navigate to Account Members.
- Click Add New +.
- Enter your password to confirm the action.
- Enter the member information using the following format:
<email> <display name>
Example:
John.Doe@example.com John Doe
- Select a role for the member.
As an Account Owner, you can assign the following roles:
- Account Admin
- Content Provider
- Regular Member
You can click Learn more about account roles to see a description of the permissions for each role.
- Click Invite.
The invited user will receive an email notification with instructions on how to join your organization.
Accept an EVS Organization Invitation
When a user is invited to your organization, they will receive an email containing an invitation link.
After following the link, one of the following scenarios will occur.
If the user already has an EZTitles account
- Open the invitation link from the email.
- Log in using their existing email and password.
- Complete the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) setup following the on-screen instructions.
2FA is required when working with shared videos in EVS.
After completing the process, a member account within your EVS organization will be created automatically.
If the user wants to activate services for a different account, they can switch accounts using:
User Profile → Switch Account
If the user does not have an EZTitles account
- After opening the invitation link, they will be redirected to the Sign Up page.
- They must create a new account.
- After registration, they will also need to activate Two-Factor Authentication following the on-screen instructions.
Upload Video Content to EVS
To upload videos to EVS, you will need the EVS Ingest application.
- Download and install EVS Ingest.
- Start the application and log in with your email and password.
- Click Upload Video.
- Select the video file you want to upload.
The upload process includes two steps:
Step 1 – Encrypt the video
Before uploading, the video is encrypted locally.
This ensures that only authenticated users from your organization can play it in EZTitles.
Note
Even though the files are stored in cloud storage, they remain encrypted at rest and cannot be accessed without proper authentication.
Step 2 – Upload the encrypted video
The encrypted file is then uploaded securely to your EVS account storage.
Share Videos with Organization Members
After a video is uploaded, you can share it with selected members of your organization.
Only the users you explicitly select will be able to access the video.
To share a video:
- Log in to your account on our website.
- Navigate to Content Management.
- Select the video from the list or use Search by title or episode.
- Once selected, the Video Details and Sharing panel will open.
Here you can:
- Edit the Title (required)
- Edit the Episode number
- Leave the existing information unchanged if it is already correct
- Click Share +.
- Select the member from the list.
- Set the Start and End availability dates.
By default, access is granted for 14 days.
- Click Share.
The selected member will receive an email notification that the video has been shared with them.
Playing EVS Videos in EZTitles
When a video is shared with a member, they will receive an email notification.
To open the video in EZTitles:
- Start EZTitles.
- Navigate to Video → Open Remote Video (EVS).
- Enter your email and password when prompted.
- Enter the OTP code generated by your authenticator app.
Once authentication is successful, a list of videos shared with you will appear.
Select the video you want to work with and open it.
The video will load in EZTitles, and you can start working with it just like any video file opened from your local computer.
✅ You are now ready to start working with EVS.
