EZTitles
Version 6.1.1

  • New Features

  • We are proud to announce a new and improved Subtitling Assistant. Thanks to changing the underlying speech recognition engine we’ve achieved dramatic improvement in recognizing non-English speech. More about it you can find at the dedicated to Subtitling Assistant page or in our What's New.

  • EZTitles is now fully compatible with Dragon Speech Recognition software. You could now benefit from Dragon's full text control features and easily control EZTitles by voice.

  • We’ve not only redesigned and improved our find and replace but also added some useful new capabilities.

    • Search scope – you can now switch between searching in subtitles and searching in their comments and between either both or only the active subtitle track.

    • Search only for normal text.

    • Search only in the active subtitle track.

    • Search only for text with certain attributes.

    • A new feature allows you to change the text style and color of the replaced text.

  • EZTitles 6.1 comes with big changes and improvements when working with Reference files:

    • The Reference file is now always synced with the subtitles in the main track so you could work smoothly even if timing corrections are needed and Split, Merge, Delete, etc. commands are used.

    • Reference Tips balloons can be focused with the mouse. Text can be selected and copied from them afterwards.

    • New Go to Reference Tip command that automatically focuses on the corresponding Reference Tip.

    • New Copy from reference subtitle that copies text, its style, position and formatting from the corresponding reference subtitle and automatically pastes it in the edit file.

  • There are several improvements aimed to make the process of working and writing Macros easier:

    • It's now possible to include external javascript (.js) files via the #include statement.

    • Ctrl + F allows you to search the code of the macro.

    • Selecting part of the code will now highlight all occurrences of the same code in the Macro.

    • There will be notification after hitting Escape or pressing the Cancel button when the macro has been modified but the changes not saved.

    • Ctrl + Left/Right Arrow can be used in the Macro editor to jump to the beginning or end of the phrase in the code.

    • Ctrl + Backspace deletes the selected phrase in the code until the preceeding it space.

  • There is a new Compare With option that allows you to directly compare any supported by EZTitles file to the current project. It is called and can be accessed directly from the File menu.

  • There is new Video Crop option available in the Video drop-down menu. It allows you to crop the black bars of the loaded video if it doesn't match the Aspect Ratio of your project to avoid looking at unusually stretched or squashed image.

  • There are two new options for the Preview Subtitles Scenes only feature that allow you to either completely skip the parts of the video with no subtitles in them or increase the playback speed while fast forwarding through them.

  • Improvements

  • There are two new commands, In and Out cue + 1 frame and In and Out cue -1 frame, allowing the user to offset the current subtitle 1 frame forwards or backwards.

  • There is a new Fit text to one line command intended to merge the text from two or more lines to a single line if the project's settings allow it.

  • First Subtitle and Last Subtitle commands will jump to the first/last subtitle in the currently selected list: Preview List, Log List or Draft List.

  • The min. value for the Threshold interval can be decreased to 1 frame.

  • tts:textAlign="start" will be used to indicate top justified, vertically oriented subtitles (Japanese) when exporting TTML: Netflix-TT, TTML1, TTML2, and IMSC: IMSC 1, IMSC 1.1, Disney IMSC 1.1, files.

  • Handling of control codes and style tags has been improved to avoid the accidental insertion of double-spaces when working in Closed Captions (CEA-608), Teletext, PAC or 890 modes.

  • The max. value that can be entered as max. characters per row has been increased to 100.

  • The Draft List will now show the number of subtitles in it.

  • Regular expressions can be used for adding entries in the Negative Dictionary to exclude words sharing the same root.

  • Replacement words in italics can be defined with Short Forms and Auto Correct.

  • Zero Subtitle Templates can be now copied and duplicated.

  • There is a new option for the MS Excel export to subtitles' text in a single cell but without the line breaks.

  • Parenthesis, Square Brackets and Curly Brackets will no longer be exported "mirrored" after using the "RTL Reorder" option when exporting SubRip (.srt), MicroDVD (.sub) and SubStationAlpha (.ssa/.ass) files.

  • Fix Subtitles: Fix Empty Out-cues - if the out-cue of the last subtitle was empty it will now be calculated based on the Reading Speed and Min. Duration set in the project as long as the last subtitle has a valid In-cue. In addition, Fix Subtitles will indicate which subtitles still have empty out-cues if their out-cues cannot be automatically calculated.

  • The list of supported by Netflix characters has been updated to accommodate the most recent changes of Netflix Accepted Glyph List .

  • It is now possible to select Disney from the Character Set providers list in the Project Settings menu. It will indicate as unprintable character any symbol that is currently not supported by Disney+ delivery guidelines.
