EZTitles, EZConvert and Plug-ins 4.2.16

EZTitles

Netflix Timed Text format - there is a new option which enables you to select the timing expression in the output .dfxp file. It could be set to either Media Time or SMPTE Timecode.

Netflix Timed Text format - tts:TextAling attribute has been moved from the Style element and will now be saved in the Region element instead.

Apple iTunes .itt format - the attributes of the default style and region will be correctly saved for the body element.

Specific issue causing WMV video files to crash with "Invalid Floating Point Operation" error message has been fixed.

Fixed is a spell checking related issue causing EZTitles to crash when #, &, * and etc. symbols were inserted with a space before/after them.


EZConvert

EZTitles, EZConvert and Plug-ins 4.2.15

EZTitles

The language codes in the exported Netflix Timed Text (NFLX-TT) have been adjusted to match the requirements set by the "Netflix Full Technical Specifications and Operations Manual v6.2.1".

Bug causing the characters count indicator to disappear from the screen has been fixed.

Number of issues related to the playback of different video files (.wmv, .mov, .mp4) causing EZTitles to crash or hang have been resolved.

Problem causing EZTitles to freeze after using Checks has been fixed.

Couple of special characters were exported incorrectly into PAC and Cheetah ASC files. The issue has been fixed.

The inverted exclamation mark character can now be exported into Cheetah CAP file. The CAP format, however, doesn't support any other of the so called "extended characters".


EZConvert

Couple of special characters were exported incorrectly into PAC and Cheetah ASC files. The issue has been fixed.

EZTitles, EZConvert and Plug-ins 4.2.13

EZTitles 4

Bug with the use of the"effect ID" attribute when exporting the subtitles as XML for Final Cut Pro has been fixed.

The problem related to the use of italicized text and special characters represented by HTML reference codes in.itt files has been solved.

The Characters per second option, "Project Settings->Reading Speed", could be set to more than 30 cps.

The Language for the exported DLP XML subtitle files could now be entered entered manually as well as could be selected directly from the available Language list. This is intended to solve compatibility issue with some DCP applications which require the language attribute to be present in different format.

Videos encoded by the FFMPEG MPEG4 encoder are now supported and can be imported in EZTitles.

The "List index out of bounds" error appearing after using the Check Subtitles option in Preview has been fixed.

It is now possible to change the Max. Character Per Row option in Closed Captions mode and specify value in the range between 24-32.

The "List index out of bounds" error appearing when trying to import specific .MCC files has been fixed.

The issue related to the use of none Closed Captions specific files (i.e EBU STL, PAC, SRT and so on) for encoding Closed Captions and which used to result into incorrect vertical position of the text has now been fixed.


Plug-in for Adobe Premiere

The EZTitles Plug-in for Adobe Premiere is compatible with Adobe Premiere CC 2014.

3DTitles 4.2.5 and EZTitles, EZConvert and Plug-ins 4.2.12

3DTitles

Added two more DVB export options. 3DTitles could now create .dvb elementary subtitle stream and .idx description file for use by Manzanita MP2TSME as well as Generic DVB subtitle stream.

Fixed is an issue which caused 3DTitles to crash on start up if the installed video device didn't support hardware acceleration.


EZTitles

Added two more DVB export options. EZTitles could now create .dvb elementary subtitle stream and .idx description file for use by Manzanita MP2TSME as well as Generic DVB subtitle stream.

The Final Cut Pro subtitles created by EZTitles could be used with official, stable release of Davinci Resolve 10. Davinci Resolve 11 is still in development and will be considered for support in later stage.

The Video Import option has been modified and as a result it may now add 2 seconds of "empty" video after the end of each of the imported video files. It is intended to solve a known issue causing the last couple of video frames to be discarded during the video import.

The Statistics (File->File Details->Statistics) have been expanded and will also display information about the Marked subtitles in the file.

The DCDM (SMPTE 428-7-2007) export has been modified and now enables the user to choose the naming convention of the exported image files, Export subtitles as Images must be selected in advance, and use URN:UUID for them instead of the regular "<prefix><number>.<extension>" according to the requirements of some third party DCP generators.

Fixed is the issue causing Zero Subtitle in Right-to-Left PAC files to display incorrectly when loading it in other applications.

Added is a new option to Word Wrap long lines when importing Timed Text subtitles.

Fixed is the issue causing the text imported from Apple DVD Pro and Spruce STL scripts to be displayed as left aligned when the Horizontal Alignment hasn't been specified in the STL file.

The problem causing punctuation marks to be discarded while exporting Arabic subtitles as RTF files has been solved.

Fixed is the issue causing EZTitles to crash when using the Checks if video is positioned after the last subtitle in the file.

Fixed is an issue with the TV Out Preview option. The TV Out Preview will work as expected even if EZTitles' main window is currently moved to the secondary monitor.

EZTitles will now accept XML files without any line breaks.

The issue causing text in Right-to-Left language to display incorrectly when copy from or paste to EZTitles has been solved.

Watch Folder:Added is new Auto recut option. It is intended to help in the situation when the output file needs always to be Recut to the 00:00:00:00 point. For example, if the first subtitle of the input file starts from 10:00:15:00 after the conversion the first subtitle timecode will be instead changed to 00:00:15:00.


EZTitles Plug-in for ProMedia ™ Carbon

The EZTitles Plug-in for ProMedia carbon will now accept XML files without any line breaks.

WFS/Carbon Coder Admin: There are two new wildcard characters which could be used to specify the input subtitles file: "*" and "?". The asterisk "*" matches any sequence or number of characters while the question mark "?" matches any single character.

3DTitles has new feature to export 3D stereoscopic DVB subtitles for use by ProMedia Carbon in the Side-by-Side and Top-Bottom stereoscopic 3D layouts.

The Final Cut Pro export option has been modified and the output Images and XML script could be loaded by Adobe Premiere as well.

Added is new option to control the resolution of the 3D preview on the preview monitor.

3DTitles will accept different audio formats, loaded separately by the Open Multiple media files option or encoded in the media file, including 24bits encoded audio streams.

New Netflix Timed Text (NFLX-TT) export option is available. It will ease the preparation process of subtitles that need to be delivered to Netflix, and is made in compliance with all recommendations set by the current version of the Netflix' Timed Text Style Guide.

The MCC CEA-708 Closed Captions export offer compatibility with Adobe Premiere CC after activating the respective "Compatibility" checkbox. To export MCC caption file for use by Adobe Premiere CS6 the "Compatibility" option must always be turned off.

The import of Spruce STL files will now correctly display TOP positioned subtitles.

There is new "Toggle Mark/Unmark" command which could successfully replace the use of two individual "Mark" and "Unmark" commands after assigning shortcut to it.

The Apple iTunes (.itt) export option has been modified and now correctly exports raised to the top of the screen subtitles as Top positioned.

Fixed is an issue causing the Plug-in to randomly crash when submitting Job XML containing more than one instance of the Plug-in.

The Plug-in will correctly display Top aligned subtitles from Spruce STL files.

EZTitles 4

The rendering issue of images intended for 4 colors DVD Systems, such as Sonic Scenarist, Spruce DVD Maestro and etc, under Windows 8.1 has been been solved.

The issue related to the use of Chinese IME (Input Method Editor) under Windows 8.1 has been fixed.

Added are two new options to the DCDM (SMPTE 428-7-2007) subtitle for Digital Cinema export which enable the "StartTime" and "DisplayType" attributes to be specified.

Two issues related to the export DLP XML have been fixed. The first one was related to the export of incorrect HPosition attribute for center aligned subtitles which contained one or more empty lines between the text lines. And the second solves a bug with the subtitles' VPosition when exported from Closed Caption project.

Fixed is the issue, related to the export of TimedText (TTML) files, which kept inserting empty lines for vertically raised subtitles even while the "Use new lines for vertical alignment" option was deactivated.

The problem related to the import of Cheetah CAP files and resulted into incorrect horizontal/vertical position of the text has been fixed.

Solved is the issue which used to limit the size of the text in the exported RTF document to only 15pt. The text's size could now exceed 15pt in the output document.


EZConvert

The Command Line and Watch Folder tools will now benefit of two more options to Fix Subtitles: fix subtitles bellow the minimum or above the maximum duration. These used to be available only for the regular GUI version of the software.

Added is new option for the Command Line conversion application which allows non compressed images to be exported. Please check the [DVD_IMAGES] section in the sample_config.cfg for details.

EZTitles 4

The XML export for Final Cut Pro now provides new option to select between two different text generators: Outline Text Effect and Text Effect. The Outline Text Effect will draw regular border around the characters but it is only applicable for horizontally center aligned subtitles. When using the Text Effect generator, instead, the outline will actually be simulated by applying Outer Glow effect around the characters but could be used without any restrictions considering the subtitles horizontal position and alignment.

The exported images and XML script for Final Cut Pro 7, result of using the dedicated DVD Images export option, could be now used as exchange format with Adobe Premiere as well. Adobe Premiere supports and accepts subtitle files which are compatible with Final Cut Pro subtitles' specifications and requirements.

The two new subtitles result of using the Split Subtitles command will have their In/Out cues snapped to a shot change if they match the snap to shot changes threshold interval.

The Timed Text export option has been adjusted and, by default, now uses the "tts:displayAlign" attribute to preserve the text's vertical position.

There is a new option added to the Avid DS Nitris (.txt) files export italicized subtitles in a separate file. At the moment Avid Media Composer can only accept italicized or non-italicized subtitles in this format. By exporting two files - one containing the non-italicized text, and the other for those formatted in italics - and loading them separately in Avid Media Composer it will be possible to preserve the original appearance of the text.

Added is option to export RLE encoded TIFF images to the Sonic ReelDVD/Scenarist, Custom (4 colors) and None/HD/NLE export options. Note that RLE TIFF export requires Windows 7 or 8.

The comma descent in Romanian letter "Ș" (S-comma) will automatically be replaced by cedilla ("Ş") when exporting to PAC files for comaptibility reasons. Otherwise the comma descent will be removed during the export.

Fixed is an issue with the display of the Arabic ligature Lam with small "v" above with Alef.

An issue related to the import of SCC files with Carriage Return character inserted before Start of Captions command has been solved.

Fixed is the issue of using Capture Out-Cue command between two subtitles which are already on the min. interval which caused the next subtitle's In-Cue to be shifted forward. Subtitles' In-Cue has always greater priority and shall not be shifted.

Fixed is the problem causing export of 24 bit BMP and TIFF images to render incorrectly.

Command Line: Closed Captions styles (roll-up, pop-on, paint-on) could now be modified from the [Text Attributes] section of the "sample_config.cfg" configuration file.

Command Line: Fixed is the issue causing the Renumber to fail when the source subtitle file contains Zero Subtitle with In/Out cues different than the default (00:00:00:00 / 00:00:00:08) values.


EZTitles Plug-in for ProMedia Carbon

Critical issue related to the selected fonts in the WFS version of the Plug-in has been found and fixed. During the software update, the fonts of all presets currently configured for subtitles Burn-In jobs will be reset . We strongly suggest to review all such EZTitles Plug-in presets and verify that the correct fonts have been selected.
Note: Please mind that all of the above only applies to the WFS version of the Plug-in. The software update will not affect the regular version of the Plug-in used with ProMedia Carbon GUI or Admin tools.

TIFF images with LZW compression are now available for export by the dedicated "Sonic Scenarist/Reel DVD" DVD Images export option.

Added is a new compatibility option to the EBU STL export which is intended to help in the situations when the text needs to be indicated as "double height" in Open STL files.

Added are two new attributes to the Custom Text Export to save the Tape ID and Reel Code from the File Details.

An issue related to the required time to process captions containing extended characters has been solved and fixed.

The issue allowing Hidden subtitles to be burned in by "Tools->Burn Subtitles" feature has been solved.

Fixed is the issue preventing the subtitles export as DVD Images when less than 4 subtitles exist in the file.

Fixed is the issue which used to incorrectly change the boldness of the selected font when importing SRT files.

EZTitles 4

Added is a new feature called Multiple Files Export which can be used to split subtitle file in several consecutive files or "reels".

EZTitles 4.2.7 is comaptible with Apache OpenOffice 4.0 and its spell checker can be used.

The "snap to shot changes" functionality has been modified and now there is a new functionality to snap the subtitle's out-cues only at the "Edit->Preferences->Cues" menu . It is also available for the automatic "Titles->Fix Subtitles" options.

New option is available at the "Edit->Preferences->Miscellaneous" menu to prevent activating Preview Mode if the currently loaded subtitle file contains inconsistent cues.

Added is Video Duration statistic on the "File->Details->Statistics" menu.

Changed is the way how EZTitles handles the prefix of the specified namespace in all TTML based formats ( SMPTE-TT, Apple's iTT, TimedText). It used to accept only "tts", "ttm" and etc.

Changed is the default value offered for Media Start Timecode for TimedText (TTML XML) files. It used to offer the timecode in of the first subtitle while now it will round it down to the closest hour value. For example if the first subtitle appears in 01:00:10:00, the offered Media Start TC would be 01:00:00:00 instead of 01:00:10:00.

The Title, Language and Reel attributes of the DLP XML and DCDM exports will automatically be filled with the contents of the respective fields of the "File->Details" menu. In addition if the suggested file name contains spaces, they will be automatically be replaced by underscore for the "Image Prefix" when exporting images for Digital Cinema.

More configurable options have been added to the DVB subtitles export menu. They are intended to help in specific situations if the DVB decoding device fail to correctly display the subtitle regions.

Fixed is the problem causing "hidden" subtitles to be exported when the Export DVD Images option is used. Hidden subtitles shall not be exported at all.


EZConvert

Added is a new option to turn on/off the automatic renumbering of the imported file. It is called "Automatically renumber subtitles" and is accessible at the "View->Preferences" menu.

Changed is the way how EZConvert handles the prefix of the specified namespace in all TTML based formats ( SMPTE-TT, Apple's iTT, TimedText). It used to accept only "tts", "ttm" and etc.

3DTitles 4.2.2 and EZTitles, EZConvert and Plug-ins 4.2.6

3DTitles

3DTitles now offers the possibility of creating and producing CEA-708 compatiblie closed captions with 3D. The input EZT file needs to be created using the dedicated in EZTitles and EZConvert CEA-708 mode.

3DTitles adds MCC export option which carries true CEA-708 CC data with 3D extensions and could be used as an exchange.

Added is a new option to export 3D subtitles for use by DoStudio 3D. The output consists of .dost controlling script, .ds3d 3D offset file and PNG images.

EZTitles 4

The Project Settings now include a special "Mode" dedicated to the production of CEA-708 closed captions. CEA-708 captions on their own provide a lot more ways to customize the text's appearance and the new "Mode" comply with them all.

Added are new options to backup, migrate and restore all user settings including - zero subtitle templates, profiles, project settings templates, dictionaries and etc. They are availble under "Tools->Backup" and respectively "Tools->Restore".

Added is a new option that enables the export of Teletext lvl.1 EBU(.STL) subtitle files.

Specific issue when "Fix Intervals" and "Snap to Shot changes" are used simulatenously with the "Fix Subtitles" command has been fixed.

An issue with the Context Digit Substition has been found and fixed.

The problem with the vertical position of subtitles containing text on the top and bottom lines have been solved.

EZConvert

The Project Settings now include a special "Mode" dedicated to the production of CEA-708 closed captions. CEA-708 captions on their own provide a lot more ways to customize the text's appearance and the new "Mode" comply with them all.

Added is a new option that enables the export of Teletext lvl.1 EBU(.STL) subtitle files.

EZTitles, EZConvert and Plug-ins 4.2.5

EZTitles

Added is a Burn Subtitles optoin for use with the high-performance, professional BlackMagic Decklink devices with keying capabilities.
In general, EZTitles receives the video from the device's input, overlays the subtitles and passes it to the device's output. And then it can be captured to a digital video file, burnt onto a tape or used in any other way you may find convenient.
It will work with any input as long as it’s supported by the particular device. S-Video, Component, SDI and HDMI will all work for all frame rates (23.976, 24, 25, 30 and etc) and resolutions (PAL, NTSC, HD 720, HD 1080 and etc).

The Read Subtitles and Merge with current subtitle Project features have been improved. There are two new options to read the formatting (italics, underline, colors, effects and background) and positioning (horizontal alignment and justification, vertical alignment and raised lines) information from the target file and apply them to the current project.

Copied text from MS Word, Open Office and Libre Office can now be pasted in EZTitles without loosing the formatting: italics, colors, underline. In addition if large portion of text is copied and pasted in the Preview list using the Paste subtitles option, the horizontal alignment will also be kept.

The subtitles duration indicator now works while spotting the subtitles in Edit mode as well.

The issue related to the use of In/Out Cue + /- 1 commands when the video is playing in Preview mode has been solved.

The problem when using progressive reading speed has been solved. The progressive adjustment option is also limited to 80% the value of the intersection point.

An issue related to the holding down of Page Up/Down buttons when Classic and Large layouts were activated has been fixed.

EZConvert

Added is a new option to change the vertical alignment of the subtitles. It is available for EZConvert's GUI, Command Line and Watch Folder applications.

An issue causing EZConvert to crash when exporting DVD images and then changing the DVD Authoring System at the Properties menu has been solved.

Watch Folder: added is a new option which moves the output file to a sub folder if an error has occurred during the conversion.


Plug-in for ProMedia Carbon

The Plug-in now supports insertion of Teletext subtitles written in Hebrew language.

EZTitles

Added is a new Append Files option which allows appending of multiple subtitle files simultaneously.

New option which controls the anti-aliasing for 4 Colors DVD authoring systems is now available - "Inner Normal Smooth". It reproduces the ant-aliasing presentation in earlier versions of EZTitles. In addition the "Inner Normal" option has been renamed to "Inner Normal Sharp".

The text and effects Preview option available at the Project Settings has been improved and redesigned and now displays the changes made to the Project Settings for a 4 Color DVD authoring system more accurately.

The DVD Image export option now integrates a preview window to show how the output images and text script will look like. The preview can be accessed by a button at the bottom left corner of the export dialog.

Added is new option which allows you to change the colors of the exported images when "Sonic Reel DVD/ Scenarist" authoring system is selected. For all other 4 Color DVD authoring system the colors are displayed for reference.

Chinese Traditional PAC files now support the characters listed in the Hong Kong Supplementary Character Set (HKCSC) for import and export.

The DCDM export has been redesigned and will automatically generate URN:UUID for the selected font. It will also enable you export the font file and compress it.

More options have been added to the Check Subtitles feature.

Fixed is an issue related to the Snap to Shot Changes functionality when the sum of the Snap Before and After intervals isn't equal to the Min. Interval.

Issue related to the Fix Subtitles feature while the Snap to Shot Changes and Min. Intervals options were simultaneously used has been solved.

The reading speed indicators will correctly update and correclty show the respective values when the reading speed calculation method is set to Words per minute (WPM).

The position of the Reference tips "balloon" and chars. per line indicators has been adjusted and they will not overlap anymore.

WFS Version - the "%s" wildcard attribute can be used to distinguish if the subtitles need to be encoded for the leading, trailing clips or only for the main video. "%s1" is replaced with the first file's name, which is usually the leading clip; "%s2" stands for the second file's name, usually the main clip; "%s3"- with the third file's name which is usually the trailing one. The same applies for the "%f" wildcard attribute as well. Please note that "%s" and "%f" are also available and are equivalent to "%s1" and "%f1".

EZTitles

Added is a new option to keep Preview mode active at all time thus the subtitles and video will always be synchronized.

The Timeline has been completely redesigned. Added is a new representation mode - Detailed, which display the subtitles in and out cues, snap to shot change indicators, duration, reading speed and text for clear readability.

It is possible to zoom in the Timeline.

The 4 color DVD Image export has been redesigned. The output images look stunningly crisp and beautiful with their precisely drawn letters, outline and anti-aliasing.

The Info Page utility integrates in Windows Explorer and allows you to preview the "Details" of an .ezt files without loading them in EZTitles.

Added is a new functionality to display the text's original appearance if some of its attributes or eventually characters have been lost while switching back and forth between Open, Teletext and Closed Captions mode. There will be a "magnifying glass" looking icon displayed for such subtitles.

Teletext mode - added is a new option to select a language of the Teletext subtitle file. If there are characters that are not native for the selected language, they will be displayed as non-printable.

The Reading Speed can be calculated as the optimal number of characters that can be entered according to the subtitle's duration.

Find and Replace now has more options - you could now search for subtitles with specific presentation attributes as italics, partial italics, color, alignment and etc.; search for dialog subtitles (lines starting with dash), inserted subtitles, subtitles without text, such with comments and etc.

The Read Subtitles functionality has been expanded and improved and can also be used when importing files.

Added is a new command Titles->Reset Subtitles that will set the attributes of the selected subtitles to their defaults specified at Project Settings->Subtitles menu.

New tool Titles->Color Replace is available which will allow you to simultaneously change up to 3 individual text colors, for example all Yellow text to become Green.

New options for the Titles->Renumber command are available.

The Preview, Draft, Log and Reference lists are bigger and easier to read through. There are couple of new indicators as well to show you that the current video position is between two subtitles; the subtitles In or Out cues are snapped to a shot change; indicators for the number of characters inserted on each text line; reading speed indicator; vertical position indicator.

All recently reported issues have also been fixed, including such related to particular import or export features, display of specific characters, general issues affecting the overall stability of EZTitles.


EZConvert

The Watch Folder allows you to start and run commands (Post Conversion Events) after the conversion has completed.

The Watch Folder can send e-mail notification when a file has been converted successfully.

Watch Folder- Recut command can be applied before or after the frame rate conversion.

When converting to DLP Cinema XML or DCDM XML subtitles, the Title and Language fields will automatically get filled in if such information is present in the input file.

Added is a new option to Hide/Unhide all subtitles without text to the Titles->Hide/Unhide menu.

The Print option has been changed and it is now possible to select the size of the printed text.

The Go To Timecode command can now be used for precise navigation throughout the loaded video.

Timed Text subtitle files with TTML extension (.ttml) can now be imported.

There is a new tag available for the Custom Text Format import option and it works for both the regular space and the "tab" characters.

The Insert Before command has its behavior slightly changed when used to insert new subtitle before the first one ("1") and the Auto Renumber is switched off. It will insert the new subtitle as "0a" (i.e with a letter index).

Solved is an issue causing EZTitles to crash when switching between .ezt file which have videos associated with them.

Solved is an issue with the display of imported from teletext EBU (STL) files "Center Left" aligned text and color on the second line.
